As Advent unfolds, I’m choosing to pause my blog series, Torn Robes: A Journey Through the Characters and the Town.”
Just as stories rest between chapters, so too will this blog rest, allowing space for reflection, prayer, and the gentle hush of anticipation. The characters and town of Torn Robes will also wait with us, carrying their hopes and longings into the silence.
I’ll return after New Year's with new insights, stories, and fresh glimpses into their lives—but not before leaving you with a gift. Below is an exchange between Pastor John Wheaton and his students from the second book in the series, Reckoning, as they begin their Christmas break. His words, I believe, capture the very heart of this season.
“The Christmas season, although you may not know it, is not all presents and decorations,” John said, much to his student’s chagrin.
“What?”
“Come on!”
“I know, I know, what was I thinking? Seriously, it should also be a time of reflection and prayer. It’s a time to listen for God’s voice and direction. And that is what I intend to do.”
May peace, joy, and the light of His promise fill your days.
