TORN ROBES: CHOICES

Torn Robes: Choices
Gilford high school students are in peril!
The township of Gilford is demanding action! Principal Krystina Davis puts her career on the line and convinces the board to hire best-selling author of Children of the King, Nebraska Pastor John Wheaton.
Pastor Wheaton has one semester to put his God-centered approach to guiding teens to the test.
Initially, he receives a ‘warm’ New England welcome. Then the real work begins. Can Pastor John make a difference for the troubled teens of Gilford? If not, what will happen to the students and families who so desperately need him?

Well written story highlighting the miriad of issues that young adults face and choices they must make. It is the individual characters that must make their own choices, no ones doctrine is forced on them. The characters feel very real. Looking forward to the next installment.

TORN ROBES: RECKONING

Torn Robes: Reckoning
Pride goes before destruction, a haughty spirit before a fall.
Proverbs 16:18
The winds are blowing toward the east coast, where a storm is indeed brewing. Dark, ominous clouds are drifting inland from the Atlantic Ocean, a foreshadowing, perhaps? Unaware of the events about to descend upon their unassuming town. The residents of Gilford are preparing for the holiday season and the much-anticipated championship game. Some are planning meals and arranging family gatherings, while others are dealing with their own stubbornness and anger. And still, there are some, like the Tin Man, who have no heart and are plotting and scheming for the ruin and downfall of others. Prayers have gone up to Heaven, petitioning Almighty God for a miracle. The people of Gilford are at a crossroads, and the time has come to make a choice. A storm is coming…Gilford, are you ready for the Reckoning?

“A Time For Everything” explores the complexities of family, loss, and the quest for divine wisdom.

Entertaining book of short stories told from the perspective of other characters in the original Bible story. Thought provoking, as I had never considered the background stories of others in the story. Stories are detailed, but short enough to easily complete. Each writer’s style fits their story and the writing flows well, helping you to imagine the story as it unfolds. A recommended read!

This was an enjoyable read. Each story added details that brought the story to life. The basic story remained true to the Bible yet filled it out with creative details. The unique viewpoint of each story was refreshing. I would recommend this to anyone looking for a novel perspective.

I thoroughly enjoyed these Bible stories told in a reimagined way. The stories are told in the style of historical fiction, each writer in this anthology adding his or her creativity to the story without changing any biblical truths. These writings are a fresh way to read and internalize these beloved Bible stories.
