In the midst of today’s chaotic world, I find solace in the simple things. During the summer, my husband dug a heart shape for me on our front lawn. You’ll notice an iris in full bloom in the middle of the heart, even though it’s well past the blooming season. This beautiful inconsistency serves as a reminder to me of God’s power and grace, especially during difficult times.

We all believe we are independent. We face the challenging circumstances of living and making choices every day. When will I get up? What is for breakfast? From morning’s rising to evening’s retiring: we choose. God gifted us with the free will to do so and the autonomy to see it all through. Yet, Paul says he is convinced that nothing can separate us from the love of God and Christ Jesus. So no external, or internal forces can separate us from God’s love.
