I’m currently rereading some of my favorite novels. I am a huge fan of Jane Austen; I can picture myself strolling through the picturesque fields of the English countryside—book in hand, mesmerized by the words popping off the page. I can relate to the heroines in her stories as I understand the feeling of not expecting much but still harboring dreams of the seemingly impossible. I recently finished “Lady Susan,” which may not be one of her most renowned novels; however, I found it brilliant in its delivery. The book is composed of letters exchanged between the characters, and although I was initially unsure about this format, I found it incredibly intimate and revealing. After all, don’t we reveal ourselves more personally through a letter? I found myself eagerly anticipating each new letter as the storyline unfolded.
